There's been a computer in my house since the day I was born. My dad was one of the first people ever to use online BBS systems (the kind where you had to dial up). He was convinced that the internet was the way to go and wanted to make a yahoo-type site but the guy he worked with wanted to stick with BBS. Whoops. Anyway, because of this I've basically been playing video games my entire life. There was a Nintendo in my house since as long as I can remember and who knows how many computers. C64s, Ataris, old Apples, etc. The only thing I think I never had was windows 3.1 because we had an early release of 95... like 3 years early (Codename Chicago or Windows 4.0 depending on the build). I started off mostly with console games with a few PC games thrown in now and then... and then I got Warcraft and the world ended. I basically played Warcraft, War2, Command and Conquer, and Red Alert for the next few years, along with a LOT of Super Nintendo (Crono Trigger, FF3, SMB, tons of other games). I did play other PC games occasionally - stuff like SimCity 2000 and even played a little Duke3D (probably my first FPS), but I was hooked on RTS. Somewhere along the line I got a Playstation and almost completely stopped playing computer games. Final Fantasy VII owned my soul and I've finished it at least 6 times. Then my life basically ended for the immediate future because I bought StarCraft. I played online with a few friends and eventually got some of my other friends to play. I was in my first clan in StarCraft and we had weekly tournaments and such... I played constantly. Some of us would stay up all night and go to school the next day, come home and play again. After we stopped playing so much, I found out about War3 and managed to get the beta. I played the beta cosntantly and joined my first real gaming community (I still have contact with some of these people). I played all through the beta and for awhile into retail. I got ridiculously good and was ranked #74 on USEast, beating the #2 player at one point. I lost to a cheese method 3 times in a row at one point and I got pissed off and quit the game. Then highschool football came and I never really got as back into it as I was. Now I'm terrible at it and refuse to play. I played a very little bit of Counterstrike with eradicate in a 1.6 Cal O team. I never actually played the matches but I scrimmed some. I'm horrific. Sometime after that, I started playing WoW. I was a noob at first but eventually got into the coolest high-end raiding guild you could possibly imagine. We raided a lot but they were all cool guys. We bullshit on vent during pulls and it was just fun. We got through about half of naxx before the expansion came out (gear check). When the exp came out they left the server, but I had RL friends so I stayed. I quit for awhile but I play causally now as horde on a low pop server. Recently I've been playing some Civ4, Madden, and I might start playing CSS.
