Pittco's IRON STORM 9

As most of you know already, Pittco's Iron Storn 9 LAN Party is upon us. Registration is offically open so i expect all of you who arent Pittco staff to be signed up ASAP. remember under team name when registering to put: cantstopthis

www.pittco.org

I’d like to get as many of our guys there this year, if we can match the last events numbers I’ll be blown away. We got a couple of new guys that should be heading down with us, so our cst control should spread farther than ever before.

I’m going to need some people to come up with additives for the clamato bowl this year... Clamato is becoming exceedingly hard to come by these days but I think our chocolate pickle Gatorade made up for it at the last CST LAN. Pittco HAS TO be better!!

Thanks TL;DR

Okay, You know, I really wasn't going to put one of these up, but I guess it's somewhat expected and necessary given that this was our biggest lan yet. Around midnight, we were at our record count of 14 people! And best of all, they all fit inside 3 rooms downstairs in an Oakland house... Pretty comfortably thanks to the arrangements we had setup.

First off, thanks to AbraXas and my other roommate (Jaymes) for allowing a lan to be held in the house. I know AbraXas was down with it mostly, but still, who really wants their place to be overrun by a bunch of dudes screaming "I don't even care", "Fuck this house", and "Where da hood at"? The location was really nice to have given previous concerns for parking that turned out to be not a problem.

The setup we had was tits. Given the furniture we had, along with tables and chairs brought from mostly cHip and some from lanman, we were able to make sure everyone could sit with a lot of room. Keeping you mostly cool (except you guys in the middle room for half the lan, go bitch at the laws of thermodynamics), the huge badass air conditioner SaBeRwOlF brought was nice. Also, AbraXas's AC kept the kitchen cool which eventually met the middle room. Big thanks to lanman/guy/dude/sir for good switches and figuring out networking issues we had with blocking ports so we can play games that require some "tweaking".

A big effort was made to keep everyone filled with junk food and drinks throughout the whole lan. Given more time, we could of survived in there for another two days without having to set foot out into the sun. Thanks to AbraXas and I for providing food and drinks, especially for AbraXas grilling twenty hamburgers for everyone. And of course, cHip for raiding the Herr's truck that sits outside his house.

We played a lot of games, some oldies and some new ones that haven’t really been played lan. CS:S will never die along with UT2K4 which is always nice to pick up. Finally (thanks to Steam for making it fah-ree), DOD:S was really good and the tron light cycle game was fun for those who kept playing after ten rounds (you guys never played snake?!). And of course, the infamous and hated by those who lose... ... Quake 3 Tournament. Clamato was MIA but Chocolate Gatorade mixed with ingredients from the kitchen made it a good (sic) fill-in. Thanks for the folder "LAN Share" that sits in everyone’s network neighborhood maintained by some sexy guy.

Thanks to all you guys who came, even some first timers who made up a good half of our head count. This was the biggest, cleanest, and one of the best LANs we've had so far. Some constructive things to say... I know, some of you guys hate some games, but don't just leave. The more people in game for these lans, the better. To the RTS crowd, it's always rough for you guys, but SC2 will have everyone drooling. If you guys want to play any game, just suggest it. There are only so many of us, so any contributions make a big difference. And that's really it. Pittco is coming up and a good bit of us are involved in planning, but I expect EVERYONE to be there to get energy levels high.

And now for my random outbursts of thanks:

Thanks to DcS for bringing the zombie infection; lanman, who was demoted to lanboy, for representing today's youth; AbraXas for lending his triangular shape to the whole event and his recent completion of his essay: Poop Dipper; cHip for being... himself; robvious for his never ending quest to find where exactly the hood is at; BigJ for NOT FALLING ASLEEP and playing everything like a cpl-I pro; JungleRalph for also, not caring; Taywin and ArchPope for coming and surviving the combined household IQ that’s equivalent to a rotted carrot at times; Enigma5's tan for not coming and bringing the most expensive computer that everyone schemed to steal secretly in their heads; Skorze for being godlike at everything he plays along with his odd tastebuds; telstar and citizenerased for making it after 11 and witnessing grown ass men cry at drinking concoctions; and thanks to SaBeRwOlF for keeping everything else running, none of these events would happen without his presence.

No thanks to: timmer's hair, saber's harddrive, skorze’s car, timmer for not coming, time going fast, pickle juice, heat, timmer's hair, and a body's inability to feel good after consuming over a kilo of sugar.

See you at Pittco!

CST LAN OFFICIAL!:

fire!!!

Okay, boys and girls, the date is official and the formalities are being finalized. Time to LAN! This is going to be your traditional CST LAN, with a Pittsburgh stylie attached. We hope to make this one the biggest yet. Anyone coming to this shindig needs to go to the forums and post that he or she is planning on attending so Erad1cate and abraXas can make sure they have enough tables, router, and cables.

We’re popping Erad1cate’s LAN throwing cherry with this one so let’s make it a good showing. This should be one for the ages.

Member Update: CST LAN Info:

After every Ironstorm event, for some strange reason, we have kids from Pittco that start of hover around the CST circus and eventually join. This time we would like to congratulate Jungleralph and BigJ64 for joining our retarded group of guys. Only time will show you the mistake you've made in joining this KR3W.

CST SUMMER LAN:

The LAN planning has begun. This summer we have decided to hold it in the abraXas household, located in the heart of Oakland, roughly one block from PITT. We would like to get as many off you guys there for this one so if you could post in the forums what weekends in June you'd be available it would make scheduling this thing a lot easier

VENT IS BACK! New Info:

After a rather tedious war with paypal and nationvoice we have our vent server back. For some dumbass reason paypal decided not to send my yearly eCheck to nationvoice. Seeing that i dont check my email very often i thought that there was just a problem with the nationvoice server being down for some time. well when i finally checked my email, nationvoice had already notified me that they were shutting off out server and canceling my account. i resolved the issue with them and paid them the moneys owed. the only thing is we lost our old server and have to settle for a new IP

New Ventrilo IP Information:
Ventrilo IP: 66.235.185.240
Ventrilo Port: 3823

the vent IP is also listed on the side of every page. see ya on vent.

CST LAN Party! November 23rd, Noon!!!

As you know, the great and big CST lan is scheduled for turkey break, and it would be silly to have it on Thursday due to thanksgiving, comas, and toilet problems. Because there has really not been a date confirmed, I'm going to say the best time, for everyone (given the fact break ends sunday, going back to normal shit on monday), Friday, a bit after noon till the next day, saturday will be the length of the lan. This will allow maximum chaos given the room (we can't have 16+ people in a basement for more than 1 day) as well as Sunday to recuperate before back to life on Monday.

WHEN: Friday Noon to Saturday (same time; or when you can get your lazy ass out).
WHAT TO BRING: Yourself, Computer, Computer Stuff, Good Attitude, And Things To Keep You Not-Fucking-Stinking
We should have lan cables and several monitors, but it'd be nice to bring one, also, if you could bring anything router/power related (surge protector), please do.
I hope we won't have power issues, but we'll see.

WHAT NOT TO BRING: Your eDick and anything else associated.

We officially did something productive!

CEVO team = win. Hopefully we will have a good season. Now the rest of you get off your asses and do something for the clan. Also, welcome our new members from the TF2 team. There is possibly more to come as far as the roster goes.

Team Fortress 2 CEVO League

I, Matt (L4NBOY), want to get a CEVO league team together for Team Fortess two. Matches for the league are Monday and Thursday evenings. Please let me know the interest in the new Team Fortress 2 forums. If you are interested it is vital that you do this immediately as we must have our team registered by October 11, 2007. The first round of matches is October 15, 2007. We need a minimum of six people to play a match.

cst Dance Party!!!

Words Can't Explain... wait... what?

Make sure everyone goes in the forums and reads about the upcomming cstlanparty!

CS:S Server is Down

The CS:S Server is temporarily down due to Steam sucking. It will be up again next Sunday at the latest.

We have a CS:S Server

We now have a 12-slot CS Server at:
cstdc.servegame.com
This is great, please donate to a bigger and better one, as well as possibly a DoD:S Server.

New Vent Info!

After extensive testing & research NationVoice has decided to transfer our server from its current data center to Voxel. Voxel is one of North Americas premier datacenters providing all tier 1 backbone providers. The results of their extensive tests showed an improvement in performance (Stability, Uptime, & latency) by 60%. Due to the transfer the servers IP will change. The server will remain in New York. The only change will be the physical IP ( 208.122.33.3 ). Your DNS IP will remain the same ( newyork3.nationvoice.com ). So inturn if you have it set to connect using the DNS you dont have to change a thing. But, if you're using the the Physical IP address you need to change it. The old server will remain up until friday night so change your information before then.

The Site is Finished!

The site is finally finished, it still needs a little more fine tuning in the forums and the project page is uploading over FTP as I type, but the site is finished. Hope you guys like it.

Construction...

The site is still under construction, and may not work from time to time, but it is just as good as the placeholder. Anyways, it will be finished tomorrow for you all to bask in its glory.

Our site has been redesigned!

As most of you have noticed, our site has been recently revamped, with forums and a new layout.

Great News!

Zach 'themaN' Miller has come out of retirement!
